Production Pastry Chef (Part-Time / Casual)

Christchurch City | Grace Patisserie

Grace Patisserie is an independent boutique patisserie opening in Christchurch City in September 2026. We specialise in handcrafted macarons, petit gâteaux, pastries, bespoke cakes and premium tea, inspired by both classic European pastry techniques and contemporary Asian flavours.

We're looking for a hands-on Production Pastry Chef to join our opening team. This role is focused on preparing the building blocks of our menu—from doughs and fillings to daily production—while also being willing to support front of house during busy service periods.

About the Role

Working alongside the Head Pastry Chef, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality components that form the foundation of our pastries and desserts. Every batch is prepared with consistency, precision and care.

As we're a small boutique team, we're looking for someone who enjoys variety and is happy to assist wherever needed, including helping our front-of-house team during busy periods.

Team Support

  • Help with general cleaning and end-of-day closing duties

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in a pastry kitchen, bakery or similar environment
  • Is confident producing pastry components from scratch
  • Takes pride in consistency and attention to detail
  • Enjoys working in a small, collaborative team
  • Is organised, reliable and proactive
  • Is comfortable helping both in the kitchen and front of house when needed
  • Has New Zealand work rights

Experience with French pastry, chocolate work or modern desserts is an advantage but not essential.

Why Join Grace Patisserie?

As one of our opening team members, you'll have the opportunity to help shape the culture and standards of our boutique from day one.

We offer a supportive environment where craftsmanship, quality and continual learning are valued.
